Trade, restaurants and hotels form the country's largest employment sector accounting for over 60 per cent of employment. The industrial sector accounts for around 30 per cent of employment and agriculture, forestry and fishing accounts for around 8 per cent. Figures for 2007 put the employed workforce at 1,118,400, those unemployed numbered 110,395 giving an unemployment rate of 9.0 per cent.
